Florida, Sep. 25 – More than 6 thousand elementary, secondary and special education students will participate in the Pioneer elections this Friday, Sep. 27, in the educational institutions, an exemplary lesson of democracy that Floridian students from fourth to ninth grades will be protagonists of.

The Agustín Farabundo Martí Secondary School will be the venue for the Municipal Act of this process that, as every year, will take place with transparency and depth, testing the maturity and sense of responsibility of each student and the significance and scope of consciously exercising the right to elect and be elected.

This 27th will be a significant day for all the pioneers, protagonists of the decisions and tasks of their organization; they will select the chief and other members of the detachment and collective councils, while in Secondary, the voting will be direct and secret.

The pioneer elections will become a worthy tribute to Paquito Gonzalez Cueto, FIRST pioneer martyr, assassinated at the age of 13, on September 29, 1933 when the police of Gerardo Machado repressed the manifestation that accompanied the ashes of Julio Antonio Mella, transported from Mexico to Havana.
