Florida, Sep. 3 – With the presence of the highest political and governmental authorities of the territory, the municipal ceremony for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year was held this Monday, for the first time, at the emblematic José Martí Park in Florida.
Representing the students of Florida, the student Ana Lía Moreira Madrigal, read the commitments that will guide the students’ work during the present school year; likewise, professor Luis Alberto Ramírez Moré, ratified the responsibility assumed by the teaching staff with the educational work.
Yunior Juan Vega Rivero, General Director of Education, welcomed the students and teachers and emphasized the main priorities of the new school year in Florida.
At the ceremony, which was also attended by Erik Tam Matamoros, member of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party in Camagüey and Raiza Duarte Cruz, head of inspection of the Directorate of Education in that instance, the Rafael María de Mendive Distinction was awarded to art instructor Yulio Toledo Guzmán, collaborator in Equatorial Guinea.
The occasion was an opportunity to recognize several retired educators, those who have returned to the classroom and young people who are beginning to work as teachers; likewise, Popular Councils, mass organizations and entities were recognized for their close links with the educational sector.
After the municipal ceremony, Yunior Vega, accompanied by the highest authorities of the municipality and his Board of Directors, toured several educational centers to verify the start of the new school term on September 2 in Florida.
