Florida Celebrates International Youth Day (+Post)

Celebra Florida el Día Internacional de la Juventud

Florida, Aug. 13 – The municipal celebration of International Youth Day began this August 12 with a bike ride from José Martí Park to the Sports Motel in the city of Florida.

In the recreational facility there will be an encampment with the participation of more than 150 young people from all the work centers and educational institutions of the territory.

For the occasion, the specialists of the Sports Sector are proposing traditional games during the afternoon, with swimming in the pool, and in the evening, cultural activities will take place with the participation of the Tuabaquey dance group and the Abriendo Brecha Project of the Hermanos Saíz Association.

The celebration of International Youth Day has been held on August 12 all around the world since 2000 and is intended to encourage the participation of young people in all social spheres, especially when there is currently the largest youth population in the world in history.

Young Floridians will celebrate international events on the eve of the 98th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, this August 13.
