Florida’s use of digital payment for electricity service is growing

Florida, Aug. 6 – During the past month of July in the municipality of Florida, the number of payments of the electric bill through the Transfermóvil digital application almost tripled, according to a report from the commercial office of the Basic Unit of this sector in the locality.

It is reported that in July some 10,400 Floridian customers paid their electric service through this application, which represents a 26 percent growth compared to the amount billed here digitally in the previous month.

This is a great step forward in the current strategy of promoting the electronic payment of services, since this number of digital users represents approximately 40 percent of the total number of customers of Unión Eléctrica in the residential sector of the municipality of Florida.

The increase in electronic payment for electricity service in Florida comes after the decision to suspend the collection of electricity bills in the homes of the municipal capital city, which left most customers in the territory with two options: to pay through digital platforms, or going in person to the commercial office during the established days and hours.
