More than 100 million pesos for social security executed in Florida

Florida, July 10 – More than 100 million pesos of the Social Security budget for the municipality of Florida have been executed to date, with the purpose of guaranteeing the financial benefits to retired and workers protected by the different forms of this conquest of the Cuban Revolution.

According to the information provided by the municipal office of the National Institute of Social Assistance and Social Security (INASS), the mentioned figure remains below the expected amount by several millions, due to the decrease in the number of retirement procedures and the decrease in payments for maternity and protections for working women, among other socioeconomic circumstances of the current situation.

The extension of the active working life beyond the retirement age, the decrease in the birth rate and the lack of administrative knowledge about the benefits of Social Security for working mothers and their families constitute a brake on the execution of the money provided by the State in the accounts of this type of assistance in Florida.

In order to cover the demands of this right, proclaimed in the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba, the municipality was approved, for the current year, more than 280 million pesos from the national budget.
