Florida received the Olympic torch that will preside over the National School Games in Camagüey

Florida, June 21.- In the municipality of Florida, the Camagüey Olympic torch was received this Thursday, illuminating the path to the 60th edition of the National School Games, whose official opening is scheduled to take place on July 1.

Coming from the municipality of Vertientes, the flame that symbolizes energy and competitive spirit was received in the city’s José Martí park by Anselmo Hernández Ibáñez, Gloria of Cuban Baseball, and in a small relay race along the Central Highway it moved to the Leydis Oquendo Valdés sports field, for the lighting of an allegorical cauldron for the school event.

Luz de la Caridad Marrero and Jesús Daniel Jiménez, members of the Camagüey field tennis delegation that will compete in the upcoming National School Games, participated in the torch tour.

According to the schedule planned for the torch’s journey throughout the province of Camagüey, this Friday the Florida sports representation will transport the Olympic flame to the neighboring municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, where a similar ceremony will be held to welcome the party. of school sports.
