Florida special school awarded for results in environmental education (+Post)

Florida, June 13 – In a simple ceremony held at the José Luis Tassende de las Muñecas special school, the teaching staff was awarded the award given by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) of the province of Camagüey, which endorses the excellent results of the institution in environmental education.

Yunior Vega Rivero, General Director of Education in Florida, had words of praise for the students and teachers of the school and underlined the meritorious work they have been developing for several years in favor of the care and protection of the environment, which is reflected in the participation and results in contests with papers, scientific works and other actions that radiate towards the whole community.

Fidel de la Torre Pedroso, who together with his students was in charge of conducting the activity, made a brief dissertation on the work that the school does in favor of achieving an environmental culture in students and workers, and also highlighted the teacher Eleodoro Carvajal García, one of the teachers recognized in the provincial act for the World Environment Day.

Master Saskia Tamayo Roque, head of Special Education at the General Directorate of Education, and Odalys Zulueta Nocedo, principal of the José Luis Tassende School, were also present, together with parents and members of the community invited for the occasion.
