The documentary Maisinicú, half a century later, premiered in Florida

Florida, June 8 – The Aurora movie theater in the city of Florida joined the 154 movie theaters throughout the country this Thursday for the national premiere of the documentary Maisinicú, half a century later, by filmmaker Mitchell Lobaina.

During the presentation of the audiovisual presentation, Yaxcel Lescaille Thomas, director of the Floridian cinema, pointed out that the work is a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the film El hombre de Maisinicú, directed by Manuel Pérez, which has stood the test of time due to its tremendously human theme and its formal successes.

Through the documentary, the Floridians who attended the premiere were able to get closer to the locations of the emblematic Cuban film made in 1973, to those who were involved in its making and to many of the direct protagonists of this classic of Cuban cinema.

The premiere of the documentary Maisinicú, half a century later is part of the 65th anniversary celebrations of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the first cultural institution founded by the Revolution.

The film will be shown at the Aurora Cinema this week, an opportunity for Floridian viewers to enjoy the work.
