Florida, May 15 – Emilio Sánchez Sarmiento, president of the National Association of Blinds (ANCI) in the municipality of Florida was selected as a delegate to the IX Congress of that group, for his performance and the results of his work in the direction of the municipal secretariat, with recognitions at provincial and national level.
For this selection were also taken into account his participation in sports, cultural and recreational events, among them the literary club Letras sin Barrera, sports tourism and baseball and fishing competitions adapted to the conditions of blind people; to which are added the general results of Florida in the actions of the ANCI, recognized, on more than one occasion, as a vanguard in the provincial level.
The president said that the great event will serve to raise the concerns of its affiliates, among which are the elimination of architectural barriers; the need for transportation and material resources for the construction of houses, as well as better care in general for the blind and people living with low vision.
The IX ANCI Congress is scheduled to be held in November of this year and the topics to be discussed also include changes in the structure and the search for youth protagonism.
