Florida, May 9 – The current month of May arrived with the necessary rains to promote the spring planting campaign in Florida, an essential commitment in the plan for food security and sovereignty of the municipality.
As soon as possible, and with the use of residual moisture, the planting of some 2,700 hectares of various crops should begin, with priority on increasing the banana, yucca and sweet potato crops.
The main limitation of this significant objective is concentrated in the low availability of land ready to introduce seeds, as a result of the fuel deficit required to break and prepare them.
According to the information provided by the vice-intendency of the Government of Florida responsible for the agricultural sector, the current strategy is focused on supporting the sowing among the advanced producers, with horses ready to do so, especially in the southern part of the municipality and in leading units of the Florida food plan.
