Florida celebrates 63rd anniversary of children’s take care centers

Florida, Apr. 11 – This Wednesday I arrived early at the large house near the Agramonte Center, a space where joy, hope, affection, responsibility and «tranquility» reign; it is the third of Florida’s children’s take care centers, a large entity where 36 workers, mostly women and educators, are responsible for the attention, care and training of 86 boys and girls, between two and five years of age.

This April 10 we celebrate in Cuba a new anniversary of the creation of these institutions where infants receive knowledge, and through role-playing, values, habits and skills are fostered in them, useful for the beginning of school life.

Celebrating the birthday of the institution generates a celebration that involves the educators and other workers of the center, the children, as main protagonists, and the family, which supports in the most diverse ways and to the extent of its possibilities, and attends the party to enjoy the first public performances of those little ones who sometimes at home are shy and withdrawn.

Amada Martinez Esquivel and Isabel Quintana Riset were encouraged as the best workers of the educational institution Trencito de la Alegria; the celebration also went to Mrs. Leidy Villalonga Romagosa, who in coincidence with the children’s center celebrates her birthday on the tenth day of April.

It was a beautiful party in which the crazy little children, the dream repairers, the little dwarfs of the house, those that José Martí called The hope of the world, the children that in the children’s institutions are taken care of by special beings that squander love, patience, understanding, sharpness and wisdom in each day of work, rejoiced today.
