Florida, March 19.- Teachers and workers from the Manuel Fajardo Rivero educational institution, in the municipality of Florida, participated in a day of productive work in the school garden, an action contemplated in the Food Sovereignty program of this primary level center to promote production of food for student consumption.
The Manuel Fajardo Rivero school is one of the schools in the territory that promotes food and nutritional education, an action achieved with the effort, perseverance and tenacity of the group of workers.
The aforementioned institution has 1.5 hectares dedicated to the promotion of various crops, fruit and vegetables, and currently has its land prepared and planted, which will allow it to prepare a variety of dishes to enrich the menu of students and workers and compensate for the budget expenditure allocated to food.
The productive day was also used to carry out cleaning actions as part of the Mi Escuela Educa program, which has among its objectives to beautify and improve the teaching center.
