Florida urged to take extreme measures to prevent the spread of Dengue fever

Florida, Mar. 18 – Among the demands of the control visit made by the Government of the province of Camagüey to the municipality of Florida was included the call to increase the prevention of risk factors to avoid the resurgence of diseases such as Dengue.

Consequently, and according to what was said, it is necessary to increase information, summoning and training actions in neighborhoods and work centers as part of the fight against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, with the aim of extending much more the number of collaborators in the battles for the people’s health.

The prevention strategy against the threat of Dengue includes taking advantage of technology and the mass media to visualize this campaign, and to forge popular awareness in support of compliance with the measures established to eliminate the main transmitting agent of this disease.

The growing number of micro-dumps and water leaks in the streets and other places in the city of Florida, the existing weeding in gardens, yards and lots, and the low risk perception of the population of the municipality are presented here as a breeding ground for the growth of the mosquito and the appearance of dengue fever.
