Support for nutritional guarantees for pregnant women will be promoted in Florida

Florida, February 29.- The call of the Ministry of Public Health to the rest of the social actors to contribute together to the protection of pregnancy, includes support for the nutritional guarantees of the pregnant woman in the community and in medical care institutions, in search of achieving expected results in the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI).

With this objective, it is demanded to link all pregnant women with nutritional risk to soup kitchens immediately in their area of residence, where they receive guarantees of nutritional reinforcement in their daily diet.

In the common purpose of protecting the future mother and promoting the normal development of the fetus based on the calories and nutrients that both demand, there is also a call to peasant cooperatives and other institutions related to agricultural production to increase the solidarity in the contribution of food, grains, vegetables and other items to the Pediatric Hospital and the Florida Maternity Home.

The Maternal and Child Care Program, its maintenance and its results concern, without a doubt, the entire population and the socioeconomic actors of the territory, taking into account its value as an indicator of the social development of a country, its impact on the happiness of families and in the sustainability of the community and nation’s population relief.
