The dancing company Tuabaquey represented Florida in the event retaking el Son

Florida, February 28.- The traditional dance group Tuabaquey, directed by art instructor José Antonio Reyes, represented the municipality of Florida in the dance event Retomando el Son, held simultaneously throughout the country with the aim of encouraging the new generations the taste for that musical genre.

The meeting, which was not competitive, allowed the dancers’ skills to be shown and the experiences achieved in each municipality to be presented, while José Antonio Reyes, El Negrón, was recognized as the best casino instructor in the province and has the responsibility of teaching creation workshops in Camagüey, with a view to the second moment of said event organized for the month of May.

Tuabaquey is a dance group created by El Negrón that for more than two decades has received various generations of Floridians, has won important awards in provincial and national events and is representative of traditional Cuban dance that does not lose its validity in the municipality of Florida.
