Florida, Feb. 26 – Students of Félix Varela Elementary School and José Martí High School in the municipality of Florida, through el Movimiento Recuperadores del Futuro, carried out their Festival of Raw Materials, an activity that seeks to encourage children to participate in the collection of recovered materials.
During the activity, the students handed in cans, cardboard, plastic, bottles, aluminum, copper, bronze and lead, among other resources, and the meeting also became a space for exchange on the importance of recycling in the territory and for the country’s economy.
Alfonso Peña Espinosa, director of the Unidad Empresarial de Base de Recuperación de Materias Primas in the municipality of Florida, informed that the winning students will be stimulated with gifts and will also be recognized in the morning classes of their schools and other student spaces.
