Unity, integration and solidarity, determining factors to mitigate the effects of the economic blockade (+Post)

reacondicionamiento del hospital general Manuel Piti Fajardo Rivero del municipio de Florida

Florida, Feb. 17 – The impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against the Cuban people and the difficulties it promotes can only be overcome with intelligence, daily denunciation and creative resistance, multiplying work and human solidarity in order to keep alive the conquests of Socialism and the work of the Revolution for the benefit of all.

Under this perspective, the weekly check-up of the reconditioning tasks of the Manuel Piti Fajardo Rivero general hospital in the municipality of Florida was carried out, among which the progress in the recovery of the ward for the care of seriously ill patients, with the start-up of pulmonary ventilators and other technological equipment, together with the repair of mattresses, the repair of chairs and the donation of basic means to measure temperature and blood pressure, stand out.

Led by the Master of Science Ormandys Rodríguez Sánchez, Mayor of the municipality, the tour of the areas of the main hospital institution of Florida highlighted the efforts of state actors, peasant cooperatives and self-employed workers who work together to improve the physical and material conditions in this fundamental entity of the Public Health system.

The introduction and replacement of lighting fixtures, switches and power line sockets; masonry, welding and iron fittings in sanitary installations; painting of walls and conditioning of exterior spaces show how much more can be done under the premises of unity, integration and solidarity in order to solve specific demands and shortages.

Notwithstanding what has been achieved so far, the head of the executive branch of the local Government in Florida asked to speed up the works without affecting their quality; he called to defend the culture of detail in each of the rehabilitation works of the Municipal Hospital, and praised the collective work action that takes place in that entity as a gesture of high altruism, aimed at protecting the health, medical assistance and the rights of the Floridian population and of the neighboring municipalities.
