Florida, January 27.- The members of the National Association of Blind (ANCI) in Florida held the Balance Assembly, renewal and/or ratification of mandates, a meeting where achievements and difficulties of their work during the past year were assessed.
The Accountability report of the Municipal Secretariat corresponding to the 2023 stage analyzed compliance with the activity plan of the organization, deaf-blind, social care, education, culture, sports and recreation, as well as public relations, spheres that concluded. the previous calendar with satisfactory results and recognition at the provincial level.
During the debate around the balance report, the delegates referred to the importance of promoting the social culture of disability and demanded the execution of more actions aimed at eliminating architectural barriers, support for critical cases with housing problems and the need to work for greater attention and insertion of young people who live with sensory disabilities into the activities carried out by the organization.
The members of the ANCI in the territory included in their project of actions for the current stage to incorporate a greater number of members into their ranks, improve the work with children, adolescents and young people, increase the number of associates linked to the university of the older adult and join forces with social organizations to consolidate the work of the commissions for care of the elderly, Children, Youth and Gender Equality, to advance in the solution of problems that affect the lives of people grouped in the organization.
The analysis of the work carried out by the members of the ANCI, prior to the National General Assembly of Associates, was chaired by Leonel Margen, main director of the organization in the province of Camagüey; It concluded with the election of the association’s secretariat, a body that ratified comrade Emilio Sánchez Sarmiento as president.
