Florida, Nov 14.- With the motto «If not now, when?» The Health promoters belonging to the Municipal Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology of Florida, developed a Day of activities in greeting to World Diabetes Day to be celebrated on November 14.
On this occasion, the health actions were carried out with the students of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Pre-University Institute, the elderly from the Grandparents’ House and the workers of the territory’s Hygiene and Epidemiology Center.
Diabetes can be treated and its complications can be avoided or delayed with regular examinations and treatment, because if not treated in time it can cause blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, cerebrovascular accidents and lower limb amputations.
World Diabetes Day is celebrated each year on November 14 in honor of the birth of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin with Charles Best in 1922. This day represents the largest diabetes awareness campaign in the world, reaching an audience global of more than one billion people in 165 countries.
