Florida, Oct 25.- Specialists from the Municipal Hygiene and Epidemiology Center, together with Public Health personnel in the North and South areas of Florida, are developing a Vaccination Campaign against Typhoid Fever in workplaces whose workers are at risk of become infected with this bacterial infection.
Dr. Yenny Saldívar García, responsible for the Digestive Transmitted Diseases program, reported that the workers of the Fisheries, the Cuban Telecommunications Company, the Shirt Factory, the Basic Electrical Organization, the Tomás Rojas Packing Plant and the Margarita Iglesias Slaughterhouse were already immunized against typhoid fever.
The specialist explained that the symptoms of this disease can be mild or severe with prolonged high fever, headache and abdominal pain, fatigue, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, enlarged liver, and some patients even present a skin rash.
Typhoid Fever is an infectious disease caused by a bacteria that is usually transmitted through contaminated water and food, therefore, if you have any suspicion, it is indicated to go to the Family Doctor’s Office.
