Florida, Oct 24.- The repair of the cutting machines that will be involved in the harvest of the next harvest in the sugarcane system of the Ignacio Agramonte company in the municipality of Florida advanced to 70 percent of what was planned in the current stage, with delays caused by the lack of some essential resources to complete the task.

According to the information offered by directors of the aforementioned agro-sugar entity, the deficit of parts and pieces such as injection pumps, chains and belts, together with the delay in bank loans for the purchase of a replacement engine, prevented, to date, the rehabilitation there. total of the six KTP-DOS combines included in the balance for the upcoming harvest.

Ariel Ángulo Gabote, in charge of the sugarcane development front at the Ignacio Agramonte Agroindustrial Sugar Company, commented that in the face of this upcoming challenge they value the possibility of forming one or several mechanized harvest fronts in the 2023-2024 contest, with the purpose of concentrating forces and send to the industry the greatest possible amount of raw material for the manufacture of crude oil.

The people of Camagüey from the municipality of Florida plan to collect around 13 thousand tons of cane in the upcoming harvest, which means 72 days of work if the necessary efficiency is achieved in the cutting, transportation and grinding chain in the mills.
