Florida, Aug 28.- The assurance of the material and teaching conditions for the start of the new 2023-2024 school year, on September 4, was evaluated by directors of the educational sector and the authorities of the territory.
The Master in Pedagogical Sciences Mabel Waugh Moreira, general director of the sector in the municipality, reported that the enrollment for the new stage is 8,864 students and work is being done on the repair of the Enrique José Varona and José Antonio Echeverría elementary schools, both located in the municipal seat city.
The stimulation of workers, the guarantee of school meals for Basic Secondary students, and the sale of school uniforms at different levels of education were topics also analyzed during the work exchange.
Likewise, they evaluated some affectations for the beginning of the new school year related to the transportation of students and teachers, the insurance of food and vegetables for internal centers, as well as the collection of solid waste in schools.
The general director of the Education Sector in Florida also highlighted the work carried out by the educators of the three Kindergartens in the territory who worked during the vacation period to care for the children of the mothers who remained linked to their centers during July and August.
When analyzing the preparations for the new school period 2023-2024, next September 4, the directors of the Education Sector and the highest authorities of Florida agreed that, in correspondence with the results of the previous year, the José Luis Tassende elementary school in Las Muñecas will be the seat of the municipal act.
