Florida, August 18 – The operation and shortcomings of the Family Assistance System (SAF) located in the rural community of Las Parras, in the municipality of Florida, were analyzed by Bárbara Pérez Peña, Director of the Municipal Commerce and Gastronomy Company.
The council member also condemned the failures in updating the weight of food portions, the lack of control over donations received from individuals and organizations, and the weaknesses in communication with the Basic Business Unit that serves them from the municipal capital of Florida, among other critical issues.
With 15 people registered as beneficiaries, the Family Assistance System in Las Parras was only offering rice soup and plantain fufu on the day of the visit, a diet insufficient to meet the nutritional needs of its members.
Before concluding the meeting with the staff of the establishment, the Municipal Director of Commerce in Florida, along with Carlos Alberto Rabí Borrell, president of the Las Parras Defense Zone, coordinated actions to improve the nutrition of vulnerable individuals receiving services there. They also called on those directly responsible for the Family Assistance System (SAF) to be more proactive and proactive in their daily work.
The government and Defense Zone leadership inspection of the Las Parras Family Assistance System was attended by the delegate from the host district, who acknowledged the work of the staff and expressed satisfaction among regular customers.
