A new tribute to Operation Tribute was held in Florida (+Post)

Florida, December 8 – This Sunday, December 7, residents of Florida paid tribute once again to the fallen combatants who died in internationalist missions, in other missions for the rights of the world’s peoples, and in tasks related to the defense of the homeland, commemorating the 36th anniversary of Operation Tribute.

During the day, the traditional exchange took place between the highest municipal authorities and the families of the fallen, followed by various acts of respect for historical memory at sites associated with the anniversary, such as the Luis Casas Romero Cultural Center, the bust of Antonio Maceo in José Martí Park, and the Pantheon of the Fallen in Defense at the municipal cemetery.

The laying of the first floral offering before the plaque on the facade of the Florida House of Culture commemorated the fact that it was there, on December 7, 1989, that the mortal remains of the sons of this land who gave their lives in the African War of Independence were received upon their return to the homeland.

The Operation Tribute procession also included a tribute to the bronze titan, General Antonio Maceo Grajales, and his aide, Panchito Gómez Toro, on the 139th anniversary of their deaths in combat during the Mambí epic of the 19th century.

The activities of this patriotic December day concluded with the main event and military ceremony where honors were paid to the internationalist combatants at the Pantheon of the Fallen in Defense, located on the grounds of the Florida municipal cemetery.
