Floridian sugar workers summoned to promote the planting of cane and various crops

Florida, Jun 26.- Taking advantage of the residual humidity of these days to boost the planting of cane and various crops is the main mission of the more than 50 producing units of the agricultural and sugar sectors of the municipality of Florida, in compliance with what was agreed in component number one of the Economic, Social and Environmental Development Program of the territory.

After recovering the damage caused to the plantations by excessive rainfall in the first half of June, it is time to move forward in the conditioning of available spaces, unite the agrarian force and advance in the promotion of root vegetables, grains and vegetables that demand self-consumption of the agrarians and the rest of the Floridian population in the current situation.

This commitment extends, above all, to the thousands of peasants in the town, who, in optimal conditions or giving their best in the search for solutions and alternatives in times of economic crisis, gather on their lands the capacity to provide more than 60 percent of the food necessary to achieve food sovereignty and nutritional security for the inhabitants of this region.
