Florida, Jun 21.- The Provincial Directorate of Public Health and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in Camagüey granted the municipality of Florida the category of Outstanding in the blood donation program, based on the positive results of this strategic assignment in the period 2022-2023.
The recognition came as part of the activities linked to the date of June 14, a world day intended to recognize people who systematically and selflessly exercise this act of high altruism and human solidarity.
In the period from June of the previous year to the present month, blood donors in Florida made more than 1,500 deliveries of this type, both directly to the Bank of the Manuel Piti Fajardo General Hospital and in the calls developed in workplaces and peri-urban and rural communities.
The Outstanding Municipality diploma in this vital program was collected in the provincial capital city by Public Health officials of this region on behalf of all those deserving of such merit, and received here as the best news for the official closing of the activities of the Day for World Blood Donor Day.
