Florida, June 2.- Representatives of the Federation of Cuban Women residing in the popular council of Agramonte, in the municipality of Florida, visited the Trencito de la Alegría day care center to share with the children and educators of the center on the Day Children’s International.
During the activity, the little ones received gifts for personal use, made by the seamstresses of that Florida demarcation, who support all the tasks of the women’s organization.
During the exchange, the children played, sang and performed the different artistic manifestations, and demonstrated the joy of living in a sovereign country that cares for the interests and rights of children.
The General Assembly of the United Nations Organization instituted International Children’s Day in 1956 to stimulate harmony and friendship between boys and girls around the world, and for this date the UN agreed that each country promote activities for the enjoyment of the little ones at home.
In Cuba, this day has been celebrated since 1963, and on this occasion the activities are moved to the weekend due to inclement weather.
