Florida, May 24.- The initial list of the Cuban sports delegation that will compete in the next Central American and Caribbean Games, which will take place from June 23 to July 8 of this year in the Salvadoran capital, includes five athletes from Florida Township.
In the squad of Cuban athletes, the Florida sports family has representatives to perform in five of the more than 50 disciplines arranged in the calendar of this international competition: wrestling, sports shooting, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics and table tennis.
So far, Floridians Ibrahim Torres Espinosa have been included in the Cuban delegation’s payroll to compete in the 125-kilogram division of wrestling; the sprinter Yarima García Díaz in 100 and 200 flat meters; the young Danaylis León Joseph, in the group modality of rhythmic gymnastics; the gunman Guillermo Pías del Río and Adrián Pérez Niebla, in table tennis.
As is traditional on the eve of the celebration of the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games 2023, the direction of the Sports Sector in the territory foresees the declaration of Central American House to each of the homes of the young people who will participate in this event.
