Preparations are checked in Florida to elect Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Camagüey (+Post)

Ratifican en Camboya apoyo a Cuba en lucha contra bloqueo

Florida, May 23.- The electoral authorities of the municipality finalize the organizational details for the election of the positions of governor and lieutenant governor of the province of Camagüey this Sunday, May 28, a process that takes place in a session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, where the candidacy proposed by the President of the Republic of Cuba is submitted to the approval of the delegates.

With a view to the next day in which the municipal assemblies of the entire country will meet, this past Sunday the members of the Florida Municipal Electoral Council carried out a dynamic test to verify the logistical assurances and the operation of the different technological means of information technology and the communications, in order to guarantee the correct development of this election, which is carried out by the constituency delegates through their direct, free and secret vote.

In the same way, the local electoral authorities from this Monday deliver to each one of the 80 leaders of the Florida constituencies the candidacy proposal for the positions of governor and deputy governor of the province of Camagüey, for their study prior to the official vote.

As established by the Cuban Electoral Law, the candidates who reach more than half of the valid votes cast by the delegates in the municipal assemblies will be validated and declared elected as governor and vice-governor in each province, which during the next Sunday become polling stations.
