Más de 85 profesionales floridanos de Salud Pública en misiones de colaboración

Florida, May 20.- More than 85 workers from the Public Health sector of the municipality of Florida currently participate in the different services of the Cuban medical collaboration, multiplied in several countries around the world.

Each of them will receive the 60th Anniversary of the start of this program, committed to the task of saving lives and fulfilling the promise of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, promoter of solidarity aid to other peoples in the field of medicine, who promulgated that, instead of bombs, Cuba would be able to take doctors to any dark corner of the planet where they were needed.

Under this principle and in the last 60 years, 17 countries on all continents have seen hundreds of Floridians dressed in white coats pass through their streets and neighborhoods, including almost a dozen members of the International Contingent of Specialized Physicians in Disaster and Serious Situations. Epidemics, Henry Reeve.

Earthquakes, cholera epidemics, outbreaks of the Ebola virus and the COVID-19 pandemic make up the list of phenomena in the face of which the humanism of the Cuban people has shone for more than half a century, represented by their doctors and nurses in places of Algeria, Venezuela, Angola, Qatar, Guyana, Bolivia and Timor Leste, among others.
