Florida, May 19.- On the 20th and 21st of this month, the Meteoro 2023 Popular Exercise will take place in Florida, preceded by the Disaster Risk Reduction Week and as a prelude to preparing entities and the people in general for any confrontation contingencies.
During the two days, the response capacity of economic and social entities will be evaluated in terms of the organization and material assurances provided to specify the protection measures required in the territory against natural, health or technological disasters.
The municipal Defense Council and its working bodies will also review local problems such as drought, the proliferation of the Aedes Aegyptis mosquito and the appearance of acute diarrheal diseases, as a result of the beginning of the rainy season.
The Meteoro 2023 Popular Exercise, scheduled for May 20 and 21 throughout Cuba, has as its primary objective the strengthening of the territory’s capacities, in a general way, to face disaster situations.
