Florida, May 8.- On May 8 of each year, World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is celebrated as a humanitarian institution integrated by men and women who voluntarily save lives every day, help the most disadvantaged and mentalities change all over the planet.
The date is instituted to commemorate the birth of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross, and is propitious for the recognition of people who, like Rosa Elisa Herrera Medrano from Florida, from the movement of Sanitary Brigades of the Federation of Cuban Women, was linked to the altruistic work of this institution.
