Floridian journalists pay tribute to Martí and the newspaper Patria

Florida, Mar 9.- The base delegation of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) of the municipality of Florida deposited a wreath before the bust of José Martí in the city park that bears his name, as part of the activities organized for the Cuban Press Day, to be celebrated on March 14, on the anniversary of the publication of the first issue of the Patria Newspaper.

During the act of homage, the Cuban woman in her day and her eternal leader, Vilma Espín, were also honored with a special performance by girls and boys who were fans of the theater from the Enrique J. Varona elementary school, and art instructors from the Jose Marti Brigade.

In the meeting, where Radio Florida workers participated, some of the activities to be carried out by press professionals during the day were reported, which will last until July 15, the date on which UPEC reaches its 60th anniversary and the XI Congress of the union.
