Florida, Dec 3.- Officers, soldiers and civilian workers of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) commemorate this December 2 the 61st anniversary of the creation of this prestigious military institution, which after the revolutionary triumph of January 1959 is guarantor of the defense of the sovereignty of the national territory.
On the date, the 66th anniversary of the landing of the Granma Yacht was commemorated, the boat in which the founders of the Rebel Army arrived on this island from Mexico, which, commanded by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, conquered true national independence.
This December 2, combatants of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces who gave their lives in the fight were remembered with honors, and those who today remain active in military units to defend the integrity of the nation and the security of the people, against possible enemy aggressions.
On the commemoration day of the 66th anniversaries of the Landing of the Granma Yacht and the 61st anniversary of the creation of the Cuban FAR, officers and soldiers reaffirmed their commitment to the defense of the Homeland and the development of the country, in order to preserve the social conquests of the Revolution.
