Military Exercise Granma Strengthens Territorial and National Defense

Florida, May 8 – On Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8, Exercise Granma will take place in the municipality of Florida, as part of national and territorial defense preparedness actions.

According to information provided by the Independent Department of Defense to the Municipal Administration Council, the various groups and subgroups that make up the Municipal Defense Council are participating in the activities, with the objective of preparing, in real time, for the successful confrontation of different stages of enemy aggression.

The strategic mission drills serve to review the performance of each unit and ensure successful outcomes in the face of scenarios such as the challenge and media siege by imperialism and internal subversion, a massive air strike, a naval and military blockade, a war of attrition, or a direct invasion of the homeland.

Alongside the main missions of Exercise Granma in the municipality of Florida, National Defense Day will also dedicate time to completing the infrastructure in the different defense zones, as well as strengthening the Production and Defense brigades in neighborhoods and socioeconomic entities throughout the territory.

Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8, will be days of defense preparation in Florida, where tasks related to the capacity to confront, resist, and defeat any form of attack by the enemy against the Cuban people will be put into practice.
