Job Fair Promotes Employment Opportunities in Florida Communities

Florida, February 23 – With the aim of bringing job opportunities closer to the population, a Job Fair was held at the Luis Casa Romero House of Culture in the municipality of Florida as part of the Labor and Social Security Directorate’s strategy to strengthen employment in the communities.

Ivet Ramírez Martín, head of the State Employment and Skilled Workforce Department at that institution, explained that these actions have been implemented since December 2024; since then, four national job fairs have been held annually, on a quarterly basis.

However, the municipality adopted the strategy of organizing a monthly job fair, extending it to all the local councils, with the objective of bringing job offers directly to the communities and facilitating access for interested individuals.

Ramírez Martín explained that in these spaces, organizations participate directly, eliminating intermediaries between employers and qualified job seekers, which allows for greater transparency and efficiency in the hiring process.

Last year, 118 people accepted job offers through this channel, a result that demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach in promoting employment and responding to the real needs of the region.
