Florida, January 28 – A masterclass on everything the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) should be doing in the current situation, and in every region, was the result of the exchange between the National Bureau of the agrarian organization and its directors, farmers, and members in the municipality of Florida.
Meeting early Tuesday morning with representatives of the country’s most productive agricultural group at the Heriberto Martín Guzmán Agricultural Production Cooperative (CCS) in the Algarrobo area, ANAP National Bureau official Reinel Cruz González spoke about national history, agrarian rights and responsibilities, producer support, political and ideological work, integration among stakeholders, growth within ANAP, cooperative infrastructure, work with youth and women, and guarantees for the reserve of cadres.
The visitor also inquired about the situation regarding outstanding payments and pending issues from the XIII Congress process. He inquired about internal operations, the fight against crime, and the motivations for making better progress in cooperatives, and called for greater efforts in defense of the Revolution and Socialism as the only guarantee of rights for Cuban farmers.
The meeting between the National Bureau of the ANAP (National Association of Small Farmers) and the farmers of Florida, which began at the Heriberto Martín Guzmán Credit and Services Cooperative in the town of Algarrobo, was also attended by representatives of the Antonio Briones Montoto Credit and Service Cooperative and the Agricultural Production Cooperative of the same name in this Camagüey region.
The tour of Florida by the top ANAP leadership in the country later included similar meetings with the administrative structure and the Assembly of members at the Frank País Agricultural Production Cooperative, as well as open and fraternal dialogue with presidents of farmers’ cooperatives and organizations that maintain contractual relationships with the sector that is most prominent in food production in the municipality.
