Florida, November 11 – Students from Tania la Guerrillera Elementary School participated in a donation drive to support the victims of the devastating Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba, a gesture of solidarity directed toward the provinces that suffered the storm’s direct impact.
This example of altruism was not limited to the classrooms of this educational institution, as other students from various schools throughout the country joined in this effort and amplified the aid.
From all grade levels, children and young people contributed to their peers in Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba, Granma, and Holguín, demonstrating that solidarity transcends age and location.
The gesture of the Florida students reflects the spirit of cooperation that prevails in Cuba after the passage of a meteorological event that proved devastating in that part of the country.
While authorities and citizens work together to clean up and rehabilitate basic services in the hardest-hit areas, every contribution, no matter how small, represents crucial support for the victims who have lost their belongings and now face the arduous task of rebuilding their lives and communities.
