Florida, Oct. 21—The Romárico Cordero Garcés Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) in the municipality of Florida was the chosen venue this Friday for the weekly agricultural production inspection tour led by Party and government officials, along with the agricultural directorate.
The day included visits to the farms of 11 cattle producers, more than half of whom fail to comply with milk collection plans for the industry.
A frank discussion on the causes of such behavior, training on farmers’ rights and responsibilities, the search for productive and food marketing commitments, and listening to the concerns and demands of farmers informed each of the visitors’ encounters with the Romárico Cordero CCS workers.
The tour, led by Yudier Peña Vargas, deputy mayor of the Florida Municipal Council, concluded with the General Assembly of members of the aforementioned entity, where issues related to the upcoming contracting process for agricultural production, the control and management of cattle herds, milk quality, and relations with the bank, among other topics of interest to local farmers, were discussed.
