Florida, Oct. 13—Details regarding the 2026 dairy contracting process, as well as current shortcomings in meeting plans for delivering this feedstock to the industry, were discussed by the Commission responsible for these matters, overseen by the Florida Municipal Board of Directors.
The meeting called for efficient preparation with the goal of materializing and ensuring accurate negotiation of the milk volumes demanded by the Florida economy, a territory where, according to data related to dairy herd control, there is a storage potential exceeding six million liters.
Evaluating the reproduction and milking capacities on each farm, monitoring herd movement, and discussing with farmers the importance of responding to the needs and demands of the country are included in the recommendations put forward by the Commission for the control of the municipality’s dairy program regarding the contracting of this feedstock for the coming year.
With representatives from several Florida farmers’ cooperatives in attendance, the meeting also reviewed the results of the aforementioned assignment in the current phase, with emphasis on the dairy farmers who are most behind in updating their milk sales plans to the industry.
