Florida, September 22 – Territorial Defense Day took place this Saturday in the municipality of Florida with practical shotgun training activities, weapons displays, first aid classes and demonstrations, and the activation of the Production and Defense Brigades at the municipality’s work centers.
The main missions of the day took place in Zone 30 09 of the Rolando Valdivia Popular Council, where reservists, militia members, and brigade members took part in various exercises aimed at preventing enemy aggression, ensuring the invulnerability of the homeland, protecting life, and fostering civil-military resistance in any real or unconventional war scenario.
Led by Liliana Boudet Nápoles, president of the Municipal Defense Council, along with the other members of that governing body, the rally, held primarily on the Ignacio Agramonte Stadium field, became an act of reaffirmation of the commitment of the new pines to the future of the nation’s independence and sovereignty.
During the summary of the activities planned for the Territorial Defense Day held in Florida, Osmay Cutiño Reyes, a combatant of the Revolution and founder of the Cuban Communist Party, spoke with the attendees and recounted some passages from his career of more than 65 years in service to the homeland. He called on the new generations and the rest of the people to maintain their combative readiness and strengthen anti-imperialist consciousness and the example of Fidel in the current situation.
