Florida, September 19 – The collective of Luis Casas Romero Cultural Center in Florida celebrated the 46th anniversary of the inauguration of this institution, which has established itself as a fundamental entity in the promotion of art and culture in the region.
Inaugurated on September 18, 1979, in the historic building of the former Casino Español, this institution constitutes the epicenter of Florida’s cultural life, developing participatory programs for the appreciation, creation, and promotion of artistic and literary works for all segments of the population.
To fulfill its mission, which is to strengthen the amateur artist movement and safeguard popular and traditional culture, it maintains close ties with the municipality’s diverse cultural communities.
Promoting the amateur artist movement and educating the population’s aesthetic taste are the fundamental objectives of this institution, which offers appreciation and creation workshops in various artistic forms for children, youth, adults, and seniors, with special attention to people with disabilities.
Among its most notable initiatives are the Children’s Music Creation Festival and the organization of festivals in collaboration with social organizations.
The example of Arnaldo Alfonso Rosales was essential to these achievements. A theater instructor and director of the institution, he is described as a master of the stage and a promoter of cultural management that combines professionalism, perseverance, and a deep community commitment.
