Summer Cultural Options Arrive in Conquista and Las Marías, Florida

Opciones culturales del verano llegaron a Conquista y Las Marías, en Florida

Florida, August 23 – The Verano Siempre Joven (Forever Young Summer) program, promoted by the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Florida, arrived in the communities of Conquista and Las Marías with a day of cultural and recreational activities designed to promote community participation and enjoyment for all age groups.

These initiatives are part of the extensive agenda designed for the summer season, which includes numerous activities, with a special focus on rural areas and vulnerable communities.

In Conquista, the activity was developed in collaboration with the Rubén Martínez Villena Library, art instructors, and renowned clown Corbatín, who enlivened the day with clown shows and recreational interactions aimed especially at children. This dynamic reflects the program’s strategy of integrating diverse artistic expressions, such as circus, music, and dance, to strengthen the social fabric and cultural identity.

In parallel, in the community of Las Marías, this approach was replicated with introductory art workshops, guided reading sessions in the library, and presentations by amateur artists, consolidating the role of art instructors as cross-cutting pillars in the implementation of these cultural policies.

Both activities underscore Florida’s commitment to decentralizing culture during the Forever Young Summer and reaching underserved neighborhoods. The integration of libraries, art instructors, and local artists demonstrates a collaborative work model that aims to establish capacities in the communities beyond the summer season.
