Florida, August 14.- The 45th district of the Residencial District in the city of Florida was filled with activity from the My Neighborhood project, dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).
The event brought together residents, members of the Federation, and representatives of cultural institutions, becoming a space of homage and joy, reflecting Fidel’s legacy and the leading role of women in the Revolution.
The event featured special participation by instructors from the José Martí Brigade, who delighted the audience with poetry and revolutionary songs, evoking the thoughts and work of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. In addition, the clown Corbatín brought his charisma and humor to the table, entertaining children and adults with games and songs, and creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere that characterizes the My Neighborhood project.
The community’s members played a prominent role, sharing anecdotes about the founding of the FMC and its connection to Fidel. The work of women leaders in the neighborhood, who have contributed to the area’s social and cultural development, was also recognized.
The participation of local institutions enriched the event, demonstrating the power of unity in building a more just society.
