Florida, July 18.—The tribute to Fidel and the generation that supported him in the historic assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks is the main motivation for the renovation and furniture restoration efforts at the Amparo Carriera Montes Maternity Home in the municipality of Florida.
Without neglecting the medical and nutritional care of the 26 pregnant women currently hospitalized at this health institution, the group is making progress with painting, replacing lighting fixtures, landscaping, and installing new fans in the pregnant women’s rest areas.
Similarly, work is underway to restore television equipment for patients’ recreation, with the support of caring professionals from the self-employed sector and the Public Health sector itself.
With a total capacity of 36 beds for the same number of admissions, the Amparo Carriera Montes Maternity Home in the municipality of Florida also serves several neighboring territories. It is one of the achievements of the Cuban Revolution and a tribute to the heroes and martyrs who fell in the assault on Moncada on July 26, 1953.
