Florida won the second place of the 47th Provincial Baseball Series

Florida, June 13.- Thirteen years later, Florida baseball team managed to discuss a championship; since 2012 it had not achieved such high sporting merit and in this Provincial Series 47, at last, they did it.

The Florida Panthers started this competition without positive forecasts against stronger rivals. Céspedes, Esmeralda and Sierra de Cubitas had the labels of favorites, but it was the field who dictated the laws and the locals qualified first of the group.

The semifinal was against the ninth of Guáimaro and it was necessary to reach the fifth and decisive game; the packed Ignacio Agramonte stadium was the ideal scenario for the definitive victory.

In the other key, the Princes of Camagüey comfortably defeated the Sierra de Cubitas Falcons and awaited the Floridians at the Cándido González stadium, in a day in which there was a division of honors; one game for each team. One game per capita.

The Panthers returned to their home stadium, Ignacio Agramonte Stadium, but were unable to defeat the Princes and lost two defining games. For the fourth consecutive time, the Principeños were crowned.

This second place tastes like glory for Florida, young players won the applause of a public hungry for victories. There remains the smell of gunpowder from the recently concluded baseball battles, and under those fragors, the Panthers begin to weave their new paths for the next season, now with a well-earned respect in the field.
