Florida, Mar. 4 – “The attention to the complaints, petitions and demands of the population does not yet reach the desirable results in the municipality of Florida, if we take into account the priority of the subject for the state entities and government structures obliged to follow up and give immediate response to the cases, look for the particular causes of the dissatisfactions raised and evaluate trends and popular behaviors in that assignment”.
This was summarized by Liliana Boudet Nápoles, first secretary of the Communist Party in this municipality, when summing up the annual balance of the People Assistance System in the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power and the Administration Council, during which a call was made to achieve excellence in that mission with empathy, sensitivity and sense of the historical moment demanded by the complexities and challenges of the current stage.
According to what was discussed at the meeting, in order to achieve it, it is necessary to guarantee the communicational conditions, privacy and comfort of the premises where the activity is carried out and to increase the preparation and training of those who carry it out.
The main concerns and demands processed through the offices of the People Assistance System in the municipality of Florida during 2024 were related to requests for housing, economic assistance, water supply, non-conformities in the distribution of modules in the districts, problems in the collection of solid waste, and requests for telephone service.
There were others related to the sale of fuel, dissatisfaction with the actions of the Aqueduct and Sewerage Company and the collection of electricity rates, lack of doctors in doctors’ offices, lack of cash in ATMs and transfer of patients to provincial hospitals, just to mention a few.
Most of these complaints were rightly considered, or at least a good percentage of them, which contributes to the need to continue improving the mechanisms of control and supervision of the socioeconomic activities and services provided in Florida.
Before the closing of the 2024 annual balance sheet on the results of the attention to the population in the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power and the Administration Council, as well as in the 16 subordinate entities in the territory, the work objectives for the current year were approved, including the active training of officials in the content of Law 167, referring to the action in the face of complaints and people requests.
