Florida, Jan. 18 – The collective of the Sorbitol Derivados Sorbitol Subsidiary Company of the municipality of Florida is working to restart the production of industrial and medicinal oxygen, a strategic order that supported the conquest of the Labor Prowess Flag for the men and women of that industry during the worst period of the COVID-19 scourge in the country.
According to the information provided by engineer Asiel Cobas Matos, director of the aforementioned factory in Florida, specialists and workers from several entities of the Azcuba sugar group are working intensively on the rehabilitation of mechanical and automatic components to start up the oxygen production process and the rest of the manufacturing facilities with a view to restarting the production of Sorbitol as well.

The executive said that progress is being made in the final stages of the recovery of the gasometer and the pipes for the cooling water, as well as in the revision of the components and controls of the compressor for its start-up.
The top administrative representative of Derivados Sorbitol, a subsidiary of Empresa Agroindustrial Azucarera Ignacio Agramonte in the municipality of Florida, reiterated that the main objective of the first stage of oxygen production will be to meet the demand for this gas in medical assistance, and then the commercialization will be extended to the rest of the industrial processes.
