Florida, Dec. 26 – Several institutions and groups of the municipality of Florida recognized these days the enduring example of combatants of the Cuban Revolution who accompany here, as they always did, the multiple battles in defense of the principles, integrity and independence of the socialist Homeland.
This was demonstrated by the tribute paid by the Government of Florida to the veteran of the clandestine struggle, literacy teacher and pedagogue Francisca Acebal (Panchita) included in the program of activities of the Day of the Educator, which paid tribute this time to the 63rd anniversary of the declaration of Cuba as the First Territory of America free of illiteracy.
The reverence to those who risked their lives and devoted themselves completely to the libertarian deeds and tasks of the Homeland was also repeated in the morning and meetings held in educational, productive and service centers of the territory, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the triumph of Cuban Revolution.
According to the words of the Apostle José Martí, «heroes are human property, guests at every table and relatives in every house, and the ability to imitate them is measured by the respect paid to those who were heroes before».
