November, 2024 – The sugarcane units of the municipality of Florida are called to work better in the organization of the next sugar harvest, both with the participation of the human and mechanized force, as well as in the defense of the estimate in the harvest fields.
The training of the personnel willing to participate in the contest, the use of the working day and the control of resources, together with the attention to the labor collectives, should be on the agenda of managers and directors before and during the development of the harvest.
Taking into account the results of the previous season in Florida, the 2025 harvest requires higher quality and efficiency in cane cutting, to avoid harvest losses and collect as much raw material as possible within the established time frame.
It is also essential to maintain a well-designed municipal strategy, from the companies to the agro-sugar units of the territory, so as to efficiently take advantage of the resource peaks and nature’s opportunities in the months of harvesting and milling of sugarcane to manufacture sugar.
Similarly, contingency plans should be updated in the event of unforeseen situations such as fires and heavy rains, which may require the relocation of the means and fronts for cutting and pulling the grass during the harvesting stage.
